Wizard of Oz Under the Rainbow

I started a journey into Wizard of Oz quilts in Oct 08 making one for my youngest daughter, her husband sang Somewhere Over The Rainbow to her at their wedding in 06, Her favorite movie and song of all time.

Nine quilts later it is June 09. All the granddaughters & niece now have Wizard of Oz quilts. For myself I have made one from each of the four Quilting Treasures collections so far. There are 2 more collections to look forward to. I have sang many of the songs and relived the movie over and over as I have let the fabric speak to me. I am not a quilter who uses patterns so each one is a custom work of art.

Here is the first, and I will add as many as I can to this site. I hope you enjoy my creations.

Im very proud of you! I love your design of your quilt. You are such an inspiration. My granddaughter loves the Wizard of Oz and I have been thinking of making her a quilt. She is two years old. The lady at the fabric store said a good fabric to use with it would be the blue and white check that is in her dress. It will be hard to make just one. I have made one other quilt. I'll try wizard a Oz one. Bonnie, OHIO
