Twinkle, twinkle little Star QuiltCreating a star quilt can be quite a treat. There are so many different star patterns: Lone star, Ohio Star, Starburst, Sawtooth Star, Star Flower, Rising Star, Broken Star, Twisted Star, Whirlwind Star, 8 point Star, plus many, many more. Then choosing the fabric for your quilt only makes more decisions for you, but almost ensures that your quilt will be unique. The easiest star pattern that I have done is a star made from a square and 8 half-square triangles for the points. The more difficult star patterns use diamond shaped patterns, as in the Lone Star quilt pattern, and is something I haven't attempted yet. Some day I will! Enjoy the Star quilts pictured here.
 This quilt was made by my mother-in-law, Lydia, when my husband was a child. It is made from scraps of all kinds of fabrics and has been used and abused. I hate to admit that my husband and I used it several times as a moving blanket to protect our furniture. Now it is used as intended, keeping my husband warm as he naps on the couch.
