This Quilting Bee is a list of online quilting resources for you.

I've brought together these quilting resources for you, in the spirit of a quilting bee. Just in case you don't know, a quilting bee is a group of people that have come together to complete a quilt. I hope they enhance your quilting experience.

Indiana Quilt Gardens Tour - Elkhart County in Indiana has created a Quilt Gardens Tour that takes you to many different towns in the county. Each stop on the driving tour has a garden palnted with a quilt pattern and/or a quilt mural to view. Of course, each town also has many other points of interest. This is the heart of Amish country, so everyone in the family will find something interesting, not just the quilters!

The Singing Quilter - Cathy Miller was a folksinger and was asked to write music about quilting for a play. During her research, she became hooked on quilting and has now released 4 CD's with only songs about quilts and quilters. Let her music inspire you!

Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative - In 2006, Ami Simms created this grassroots initiative to raise $500,000 for Alzheimer's disease research. There are many different ways to help Ami reach her goal - buy a quilt from the auctions, donate a quilt for the auctions, book and CD sales, even virtual dog kisses!

According to the Alzhemier's Association , this disease affects over 5 million Americans, including 3 of my great-aunts. Odds are this disease will affect you or a loved one, too. I plan to donate some mini-quilts to the Priority: Alzheimer's Quilts Auction. Won't you join me?

Sew A Quilt - Learn how to sew a quilt with step by step instructions and free patterns, all great for beginners. When you've finished a quilt, be sure to send a picture of it to me and I'll add it for all of us to enjoy.

QuiltCampus

On-line classes and live chat!

One Block Only Beginner Quilting - Do you need a quilt...yesterday? Try the one block only method. Designed for beginners, but it is a fun, easy and fast way to learn how to make a quilt. By using a traditional quilt "block" pattern (blown up to 48"x48" or larger) you'll see how pretty a single block can be!

Barn Quilts of Grundy County, Iowa - Here's a site showing giant quilt blocks that have been added to barns in Iowa. It's just one more way to enjoy the art of quilting.

Project Linus - A charity organization that accepts donations of blankets and quilts and distributes them to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. Become a "Blanketeer" today.

The Rustic Lodge Lifestyle - Although not a quilting site per se, this website features everything to do with rustic decorating and cabin or lodge living, and quilts are such an important and integral part of that!

Fat Quarter Shop - A fun, bright online quilt shop that specializes in collections of fat quarters. Free quilt patterns are also available.

Printed Treasures - Packages of 100% cotton fabric ready to print on with your computer and printer. Printed Treasures fabric does not run or fade. It is the best product of its type that I have used.

Free Quilt Patterns - A huge collection of sites that offer free quilt patterns. All the sites are grouped by category and also alphabetically. You could spend hours here going through all the sites listed.

Quilt Block Clip Art - Free clip art of many different quilt blocks is available here. I used several of the blocks in the design at the top of my site.

If you have a favorite online quilting resource or would like to exchange links, let me know. I'd be happy to add it to our "quilting bee".
