Fabric.com offers you a huge range of quilting fabric and notions. They regularly offer discounts and coupons, so you'll be able to take advantage of these offers when you shop from the comfort of your home.

Hancock of Paducah is site and store that offers quilting fabric and notions. They have more fabric choices than you ever imagine. When I receive their printed catalog in the mail, it's over 1/2" thick and takes me a couple sittings to peruse the whole thing.

There are so many choices when it comes to quilting fabric for your quilts. Cotton, of course, flannel, homespun and even denim. There are the non-traditional fabrics usually included in crazy quilts such as velvet, satin, and wool. And then there are the newer options like Minkee and fleece. I've even used seersucker and tulle in a couple of my quilts.

Even more overwhelming are the choices on where to get your quilting fabric. In addition to fabric.com and Hancock's of Paducah, there are chain stores like Joann's and Hancock's. They are good for the basics, but don't usually carry the more unique fabrics or specialty tools that you may want to try.

There is your local quilt shop. If you're lucky like me, your area has more than one local quilt shop. These stores are great for the designer fabrics, the specialty quilting tools and wonderful, friendly staff that are happy to share tips, advice and offer classes.

The number of online sites, like Fabric.com, that offer fabric of all kinds and those exclusively offering fabric have exploded over the last few years. There are a multitude of sites that are general in nature and offer a wide range of fabrics and the most popular tools and notions. Then, there are sites that limit themselves to a theme, like bugfabric.com or catfabrics.org (two of my favorite themes for quilts).
