My Sister's 50th Birthday

by Julie Luoma

I've been machine embroidering for about 4 years and slowly teaching myself to digitize. I've always been fascinated with photo stitch but had only successfully digitized a picture of my dog. Recently, I decided to give quilting a try and was immediately excited about the possibilities for combining embroidery and quilting. This quilt was for my sister's 50th birthday, with pictures of her at about age 1 year, 12, and 50. She's a choir director and plays handbells, hence the musical border.

How very cool! I'm impressed. This makes me want to try it myself.
