Table toppers are usually made to fit the top of a table and not hang over the sides. You can also put one on top of a coordinating tablecloth for a layered look. Mantle scarves are made so that the design part hangs over the front of the mantle. Patterns for quilted versions have come out fairly recently and are a great way to add a unique look to your fireplace area. This table runner with bunnies is one of 12 runners I made a gifts for my friend. I made one for each month. This is for Easter/April, of course.  This is one of a set of placemats I made for use during the fall season. They don't get too much use, because if I leave them out on my table, my cats will sleep on them and get them all furry.
