Decorating with a Holiday Quilt is a great way to celebrate!

No matter what holiday you want to capture in a holiday quilt, you'll be able to find fabric for it. The fabric stores have themed fabrics for holidays available in plenty of time to finish your quilt before the holiday arrives. There are also many patterns and books related to various holidays.

Christmas in July is a perfect example. Stores have great sales and put their newly arrived Christmas fabrics on sale. The middle of summer (here in USA anyway) is a good time to think about the cold winter weather. My favorite holiday is Halloween. I love all the ghosts and black cats! Every year, there seems to be more and more patterns and fabrics available with a Halloween theme.

During a quilt shop hop a couple years ago, I bought a pattern for a witch door hanging and some great ghost fabric. The witch is stirring a caldron and ghost fabric made a great background. You'll see this witch and another of my Halloween quilts on the Holiday Quilt Pictures page.

Patriotic fabrics are another theme that seems to be growing every year. Making wall hangings or other home decorating items is a fun, quick way to decorate for summer months. Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day all are celebrated with the Red, White and Blue.
