Halloween Present Halloween Present before quilting

Here is the top to my Halloween block of the month quilt. It was originally designed as a block of the month, but my mom found the whole pattern and gave it to me for my birthday last year. I started it, planning to do one block a month, but once I started, I just kept going. It is all raw-edge appliqued with fusible web and stitched with invisible thread, except for the skeleton and the ghosts. For them, I used glow-in-the-dark thread.

I was in the process of adding the scallops to the border when I was commissioned to make a quilt for a retiring school principal. That's done and now I've finished the quilting and binding this. All it needs now is a label.

I'm happy it's done before Halloween. It's even done in time to be entered in our county fair in August. yeah!

I've seen the finished quilt and I love it! Tammy has not said yet that it won second place in its class at the county fair this year.
I'm a proud mom!

Glow in the Dark thread
by: Tammy

The thread I used is called Glow Bug by YLI. It's white thread that glows yellowish. It's a 2 ply thread and had a tendency to shred in the needle. YLI and Coats make other glow in the dark threads that are colored, but I haven't used them yet. They are available at Joanns.com - http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog/productdetail.jsp?pageName=search&flag=true&fullPath=&PRODID=prd49568
