Class Star

Lone Star

This quilt is a result of a class I took at the Quilt Festival in Chicago in April of 2010. I chose colors outside my comfort zone, starting with the splashy border print and pulling coordinating colors from that. The trick to this pattern in getting the corner points to match up and using Y-seams to insert the background pieces. Not too hard, just lots of patience! I've donated it to my univeristy's annual scholarship fundraiser. It measures about 40" square.

I just found out that a friend of mine won this quilt in the auction. She loves it and I'm very excited because it went to someone I know.

I would have bought that splashy border if I saw it too. It looks great. Stepping outside my comfort zone is what keeps me quilting. There are so many new challenges. Color, design, size, techniques, fabrics, textures, I can go on and on.
Great job.
