Here's a quilt I just finished with a chicken theme. I was given a panel with the pictures on it. I'm not really into chickens, but I love this quilt because of the feather fabric. It matches the rooster's feathers perfectly.
So I cut the pictures apart, added the feathers and centered each pair.
I quilted a bird's foot pattern around the pictures, a basic large stipple on the pictures and big, sweeping feathers above and below the teal stripe. It was alot of fun to do.
It measures about 42" x 64" and is being donated to a local event called Tractors for a Cure, for a silent auction to raise money for cancer research.
Here's a quilt I made from a panel I received as a gift.
This quilt started a series of 4 chicken quilts. As I was looking for fabric to go with the panel, I would buy something I liked, forgetting what I already had. So I had an abundance of chicken fabric. Three of the quilts are done and the 4th will be made from a small tablecloth that my mom just found that has chickens appliqued in each corder. It was made by my great-grandma.
After that, no more chickens for me!
