Cats and "The Mouse"

I bought a fabric panel of designs by Kats By Kelly a couple years ago. I also bought a Red, White and Black Challenge from Keepsake Quilting catalog at the same time, figuring I could use both in 1 quilt. When I received them, I realized that the cat panel had more colors than just red, so I couldn't enter the Challenge. But I decided to use them together anyway and I just finished it. I call it Cats and "The Mouse", because the backing is a Mickey Mouse design. I free-motion quilted it with a design that alternates the outline of a cat and the word meow in multi-colored thread. The Kats by Kelly squares are just outline quilted and the big black cat has quilted stripes and whiskers. This won a 1st place Blue Ribbon in the county fair's Sampler category!
